His friends and family: Everything to him.
He uses his brains, he follows his heart. He's decent, good, reliable, honest. He will never be the type to worry about his own dark nature. He's the type that still tries to save the bad guy in the end, even after they've hurt him. If anything will bring him down, it'll be that. Not even naivety--mercy on someone who knows how to take advantage of it.
The scarab, once something to be feared, an intruder in his body, is now his friend and companion, and while it's trying at times, he's starting to wonder if he'd be lonely with silence in his head. It has a name. Khaji Da. It's a person, if a weird one.
He greatly respects the man that came before him--and the man that came before him. He takes refuge in the words of Ted's journals. Everything he does, he does hoping that Ted would be proud of him. He wishes he could tell him what an inspiration he was. Is.
There were two before him. Someday, there will be one after him, and one after them. They're the ones that think, that sweep the floor with guys who eat stars, that can walk among gods when they have nothing but their brains (because Jaime knows, if he ever loses the scarab, he won't stop. He won't need to stop. He don't need no stinking powers.)

Appearance: It is of note that Jaime is one of the rare few on the ship that has actual clothing. His scarab can produce normal clothing, as such, he's often see in jeans, sneakers, and t-shirts, sometimes with a long-sleeve shirt over top with the sleeves rolled up. You really don't wanna know what the scarab makes his clothes from. Really.
